February 2026 Update: Projects & Enhanced Document Editing

Introducing Projects for organizing your work and powerful new document editing capabilities including Quick Edit, insert rows, precise font control, and bilingual document support.

What's New

Projects - Organize Your Work

Projects is a new organizational layer that brings all your related work together in one place. Group conversations, transcriptions, documents, and materials around a specific initiative, client matter, or ongoing effort.

Key Benefits:

  • Keep everything connected – Related chats, transcripts, and files under one project

  • Find work faster – Navigate directly to the project instead of searching through everything

  • Stay organized – Separate different clients, deals, or initiatives into distinct projects

How to Get Started:

  1. Create a project – Click on "Projects" in the left sidebar and create a new project with a title and description

2. Add items – As you work, assign chats and transcriptions to your project.

3. Access anytime – Click into any project to see all related materials in one view

Projects work in the background to keep you organized without changing how you interact with Novis. You can continue working as usual and assign items to projects when you need that extra layer of organization.

Projects limitations:

  • Projects are currently organizational folders only – items added to a project remain independent and chats do not share conversational context.

Coming soon:

  • Chats started inside a project will have project-level context and will be able to reference historical items (conversations, files, transcripts, etc.).

Enhanced Document Editing

We've significantly improved how Novis edits Word documents with powerful new capabilities for professional work.

Quick Edit from Selection

Select any text in your open document and click Quick Edit to make instant changes. Type what you want (e.g., "shorten this" or "make this more formal") and Novis will suggest the change right there in the document – no need to go back to chat.

How it works:

  1. Select text in your document

  2. Click Quick Edit (alongside existing options: Add to Chat, Accept changes, Reject changes)

  3. Type your instruction in the text bar

  4. Review the suggested change in suggestion mode

Insert Rows with Full Formatting

Novis can now insert new table rows with complete formatting control – perfect for adding clauses to contracts or expanding structured documents. All changes appear as suggestions you can review and apply.

Precise Font Control

Novis can now define font family and font size when editing to match your document's exact style. This is especially powerful for professional documents with specific formatting requirements.

Bilingual Document Support

Novis works seamlessly with bilingual documents (e.g., English/Arabic contracts). It can insert new content with proper formatting for each language column, maintaining document structure and style.

Example: Send Novis your bilingual Articles Of Association and ask to "introduce a drag-along clause" – it will edit your document directly, adding the new article in both languages with matching fonts and formatting, all as reviewable suggestions.

How bilingual editing works:

  • Novis detects the language structure in your document

  • Maintains separate font families for each language (e.g., Times New Roman for English, Arial for Arabic)

  • Preserves table structure and formatting

  • Generates content in both languages simultaneously

  • All changes appear in suggestion mode for review

Getting Started

Try Projects:

  1. Click Projects in the left sidebar

  2. Create your first project for an active client, deal, or initiative

  3. Add relevant chats, transcripts, and documents

Try Enhanced Editing:

  1. Open a Word document in Novis

  2. Select any text and click Quick Edit

  3. Type a simple instruction like "make this more concise"

  4. Review and apply the suggestion

For bilingual documents or complex table edits, simply send Novis your document and describe what you need – it will handle the formatting automatically.
