Getting Started with Transcribe
You can access the Transcribe feature from the main navigation menu. There are three ways to bring audio into Novis:
1. Upload Files
Upload pre-recorded audio or video files directly from your computer.
Best for: Past interviews, client calls, podcast recordings, or webinar files.
Supported Formats: .mp3, .mp4, .wav, .m4a, .mov, .mpeg
2. Paste a Link
Paste a URL from supported video or audio hosting platforms. Novis will extract the audio and generate a transcript.
Best for: Public talks, YouTube videos, or hosted webinar recordings.
3. Record Live
Capture meetings or voice notes in real-time. Use your device's microphone to record directly into the platform.
Best for: In-person meetings, brainstorming sessions, or personal voice memos.
4. Join a Meeting
Paste a meeting link from Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet, and name your bot. Novis will join the call as a participant and record/transcribe it for you.
Best for: Remote client calls, team syncs, and webinars where you can't record locally.
Using Transcripts in Chat
Once a file is transcribed, it becomes a Context Item in your library. You can leverage the full power of Novis to analyze it.
Analyze with @Mentions
Just like a document, you can reference a transcript in Chat using the @ symbol.
Try these prompts:
"Summarize the key decisions from @Q3-Board-Meeting."
"Extract all action items and assign owners based on @Client-Call-Recording."
"What was the sentiment regarding the new pricing model in @User-Interview-Group-A?"
"Draft a follow-up email based on this meeting @Project-Kickoff."
Features Overview:
Speaker Identification: Novis automatically distinguishes between different speakers (Speaker A, Speaker B). You can rename them manually for clarity.
Searchable Content: You can search for specific keywords across the entire transcript.
Export: Download your transcript as a text file or Word document for external use.
Best Practices
Clear Audio: For the highest accuracy, ensure audio is recorded clearly with minimal background noise.
Rename Speakers: After transcription, take a moment to label speakers (e.g., "Interviewer," "Subject Matter Expert"). This helps Novis give you better context in its analysis ("What did the Expert say about risk?").
Combine Sources: You can analyze multiple transcripts at once.
Example: "Compare the feedback from @Interview-1, @Interview-2, and @Interview-3 to find common themes."
Use Cases
Legal: Transcribe depositions or client intakes and extract key facts.
Recruiting: Record interviews and ask Novis to score candidates against job criteria.
Product: Analyze user research calls to find pain points.
Consulting: Turn workshop recordings into structured strategy documents.
